Marshall was almost too focused on his head to care what his two Marshall was almost too focused on his head to care what his two attackers where saying to him, but when Abby spoke, he shot her a gaze that Clementine could only identify as either suspicion or contempt.
How could see how they’d be suspicious. I mean, if you hear someone start to pick at the lock to your front door it’s only natural you’d get pretty freaked out. But when he got there, he hadn’t counted on the door being locked, and he’d picked so many locks before he could do it with his eyes closed by now. He thought they’d all be upstairs anyway.
“Two things to point out here Pig-Tails,” He snapped. “ One. Whatever the hell it was, I wasn’t interest it lettin’ it see me was I. And two. DON’T GO ACCUSIN’ ME OF THINGS I DIDN’T DO!”
He cringed his nose as he felt his head again. Clementine had the sense there’d be a decent sized lump there in the morning. And holding the rolling pin in her hand she realized she did feel a little sorry for him - regardless of him being a total bastard.
“Can I check you out?” She asked, turning scarlet as she realized the double meaning of what she had just said.
“Well, well Doc.” Marshall taunted. “Harboring secret attractions are we? By all means check me out.” He did a little spin on the spot. A huge smirk on his face.
“You know that’s not what I meant.” She growled, holding up the rolling pin. “And at least I have this to beat you to death with. What have you got? Your sarcasm? Ooh scary!”
Marshall’s smirk abruptly dropped.
Clementine just rolled her eyes. The words that sprung to her mind at the moment were idiot, insane and dumbass. She was about to tell him that when there was another bang out near the stables, causing her to snap in the direction of the sound. Out of he corner of her eye, she watched Marshall hesitate in reaching for his back pocket for a moment before he turned back to face them. “Want to check it out or what?”
Marshall knew that whatever it was it couldn’t have been a gunshot for sure. He knew guns, and that sound was too soft, too blunt...but still hard enough to make a serious impact with whatever it was hitting! The sound they where hearing was usually followed by some clanging noises as if something was moving around, quite unfamiliar with the surroundings. He could hear a horse whinnying nervously from the barn and realized that whatever it was, was trying to spook the horses. “I think whoever it is deserves a nice ol’ ‘Howdy’ don’t you?”

Abby lowered the candlestick holder and grinned shaking her head.
“You should watch it, the biggest clue that someone’s hiding something is they get defensive”
She said with a smile and was just about to stand back and let him through when she heard the bang again, holding the candlestick tighter she opened the door fully and stepped out onto the porch. Whatever or whoever it was Abby wasn’t afraid of it or them. Pushing past Marshall and not listening to what he was saying she made her way across the driveway unlike Marshall she wasn’t about to go skulking around in the shadows.
As she drew closer to the sound the banging got louder and more often, looking around the side of the barn she saw something she defiantly had not expected. Abby was used to criminal’s not big black something’s! From where she stood she couldn’t tell what it was it just looked like a big cloud of gas but the sound it made on the side of the barn was defiantly that of something solid.
“What the hell are you doing.”
She called out to the thing, the banging stopped and it turned two glowing red eyes stared at her from within the gaseous form. She began to lift the candlestick but before she could do anything the gaseous form swept forward throwing her backwards at least 10 meters before it dissipated.
Hitting the gravel driveway hard she skidded a bit she could feel the gravel ripping at her back and the side of her face stung with a vengeance. But all she could feel was the pain, the back of her head aching, in front of her was nothing but darkness. When she stopped skidding she lay still unmoving.

Marshall opened his mouth to say something else but as he did there was another loud bang and before he knew it he was watching Abby trekking down the drive way towards the barn.“Oi!” Marshall called out watching her entering the cloaking darkness. He did not like to be ignored! “Wait!”
Clementine watched him scowl for a second before storming towards the barm after the gothic woman. She stood there for a moment, hesitant. She didn’t want to leave either the baby or her brother alone upstairs with that...whatever it was making them noises in the darkness. But she didn’t want either of the other two to get hurt either.
From twenty feet out, she watched Marshall disappear for a moment before she walked closer to the door, half inside half outside so that she could still visibly see what was happening outside.
Marshall followed after Abby at a quick pace. His hand held steady beside his back pocket as he walked, reaching the barn soon after Abby walked inside. He pressed his back up close to the door, peering in a moment wanting to get his eyes to adjust before he walked in. But he was not going to get any of that. His eyes shot wide open when he saw the gaseous form floating a few feet in the air. It seemed to be trying to beat into one of the house feed storage bins from where he was standing. He heard her speak to it and in another instant, it turned. It’s large red eyes staring at Abby, who was standing very still.
“You can’t be serious.” He moaned.
It seemed to make a groaning noise as it sped with surprising speed towards the girl, throwing her back against the gravel floor of the barn. “Hey!” he cried out, just as it disappeared into thin air. His heart was thumping against his chest as if it was trying to break out as he ran froward and knelt down at Abby’s side. “Hey’r you alright?” he said, he put a hand on her shoulder and felt her face with his other hand.

It took a moment for Abby to respond she had been knocked out for a minute but she heard his voice, a groan escaped her lips and she sat up slowly, mistake, everything hurt like hell and she felt dizzy.
“What the Fuck was that!”
She said with a strength she sure as hell didn’t feel at the moment, reaching up she touched the back of her head there was already a nice large lump there and she didn’t want to see what else had happened to her. The horses were shifting uneasily in their stall and Abby noticed that.
“Check on the horses will ya?”
She said as she slowly got to her feet her legs were shaky and sore, her PJ pants torn and grazes on the back of her legs, her back and her face was cut but not from the fall from something else from the thing. 3 deep parallel gashes were on her left cheek.

Marshall got to his feet as Abby got up, staying close in case she collapsed again. He winced when he had a good look at Abby’s injuries. The scratches on her face looked deep, but he was pretty sure they wouldn’t need stitches. It was the bump on her head that concerned him. The horses still looked nervous, most of of them where moving around uneasily in their pens. But they weren’t his problem at the moment.
“I aint doing nothing ‘bout the horses till I get you up to the house, Pigtails.” Marshall said, holding one of her arms. “Now c’mon, we can sort thing’s out there.” He spoke, trying to sound gentle. He kept glancing at the spot where the thing, whatever it was, had vanished.
What the hell was it?
There where hurried footsteps as Clementine ran towards them, looking obviously distressed. “What happened? What was it?” she asked, but then saw the state that Abby was in and rushed to her side too. “Can you walk?”

Abby didn’t really want too many people to see her like this and someone needed to calm the horses,
“I can walk fine, will one of you calm the horse’s I’m going inside.”
She said taking a few steps toward the barn door and wincing with each one, she was a stubborn one and she knew it, nothing would stop her until the day she dropped dead. Of that she had decided a long time ago, she would never stop fighting until the very second her heart shut down forever. Until then people would just have to deal with the way she was. The PJ’s soaked up the blood seeping out of the grazes on her back and legs but she didn’t notice as she concentrated on each step and not letting the yelps of pain to escape her lips.
As she walked out of the barn she could see the full moon over the top of the house in front of her it was probably 5 hours until midnight but once she found her bed she was going to sleep well into the day she had a feeling so long as she didn’t move to much in her sleep and wake herself with her injuries she would be fine.
Suddenly she realised that Clem was out here and the house was wide open with the baby and her sleeping brother in there alone and Ellen had been very clear about making sure the door stayed locked. But now Abby wondered why that was if this was a magical island then what could be so bad that the door needed to be locked. A shudder went through her she had just met what could be so bad she thought, but then the thing didn’t seem solid. Couldn’t it easily get into the house without it being locked. God her head was so sore she had to stop thinking about all this.

Clementine looked a little dumbfounded as Abby shrugged off their help and started for the house again. “What did you say?” she looked at Marshall, confused and feeling just a little rejected.
“What makes you think I did anything?” He asked, walking over beside her, his arm accidently brushing hers walking towards the horses. “If the girl don’t want help, that aint got squat to do with me.”
Clementine turned away quickly from the man who brushed at her side and walked towards the horses. It made Marshall chuckle softly, as he watched Clementine shake her head. “I’ll check the horses, you go back to Ellen’s...or your place.”
“I want to help you, then.” He said, there where a few horses in here, she’d be a while if she stayed on her own.
I don’t need your help, Marshall.” She said testily.
“No, you don’t, but I’m offerin’ anyways. Ain’t that what everyone wants me to be doing? Joining in with the tribes?”
Clementine raised an eyebrow. “You care?”
“What? Like I can’t care about something now and then? A big spooky cloud just attacked Pigtails, I think we’re all partly involved here.” Marshall spat back.
“You don’t even seem to care enough to learn anyones names. You’re always calling us by nicknames.”
Marshall waved an arm, looking up into the trees. “Just sayin’, I’m not as brain dead as everyone likes to think.”
“We don’t think you’re brain dead, Marshall, just you don’t put forth the appearance of someone who…” Clementine thought a moment.
Interrupting her, Marshall asked, “Gives a shit?”
Clementine nodded quickly, a smile spreading on her lips. “Exactly.”
“I give a shit when I want to,” He scoffed.
“Ah,” Clementine noted, watching him looking up into one tree after another. “So, you actually give a shit about Abby.”
Marshall’s head swung down and he glowered at the young woman. “What that supposed to mean?”
Clementine huffed. She knew he had gotten the reaction she had wanted with her innuendos. “Just like I said before, you just just seem to be the sort who’d sincerely give a shit without wanting something in return. Now are you going to help me?”
Running a hand through his blonde hair, Marshall hoisted a leg over one of the gates and jumped into the horses pen, trying to make himself look busy patting down one of the mares.
Back in his room, Archie had heard the commotion outside and limped into Allison’s room, carefully picking up the one-year old and walked down the stairs. He was just about to go outside when he watched Abby approaching the patio, looking as if she had just been in a fight against a dozen people or something. “What happened?” he asked, and blushed slightly when he realized that he was still only wearing his briefs.

It took a lot of effort to cross to the bottom of the steps and she was glad that they both stayed to calm the horses because without them hovering they couldn’t see the pain twisted on her features. Everything ached and she had a massive headache coming on, it took her a long while to climb the steps and when she got to the top Archie was there holding Alison. Rolling her eyes and seeing that the infant was once again awake and by the looks bright eyed and bushy tailed. It had taken her ages to calm the child to sleep before, well one this was for sure she wasn’t going to be the one doing it this time.
“O the usual, some strange gas thing threw me half way across the country no big.”
Abby said with a shrug that brought a grimace to her face, she desperately wanted to go to sleep right now but she could feel gravel in her wounds and she knew she would need to clean it throrally and that meant a shower. But that was the last this she wanted to do, she knew from experience that the smallest graze stung like all hell when put under the running water of a shower.
“I’m going to go clean up”
She said looking down as she walked through the door, walking toward the stairs she stopped at the bottom and turned to face Archie.
“Clem and Marshall are calming the horses they can tell you the rest”
She said and went to take a step forward forgetting about the stairs she tripped and fell onto the steps the injuries hurting like nothing she had ever felt before.
“Shit”
She swore under her breath feeling like a real fool for tripping up the stairs didn’t most people fall down stairs. She thought to herself as she struggled to pick herself up.

Archie winced as he watched Abby try and hide the obvious fact that she was in allot of pain. When she spoke about Clementine and Marshall being together he had to force himself not to yell out ‘Whaaat?!’ But when he saw her limp and fall on the staircase he forgot all about it. His sister and that stupid hick could wait. He quickly sat Allison down on one of the couches, heard her fuss a moment before he hurried over to Abby, offering her a hand to help her to her feet.
He noticed the scratches, and a few possibly bruises forming on the back of her legs and winced again. Whatever could make her look like this he sure as hell wouldn’t want to mess with it.“What do you mean a ‘strange gas thing’ threw you half way across the country? What’s going on?”
“Stay out of the way, Marshall!” Clementine gave the Blonde haired man a shove backwards as she approached the gate of the pen.
“Hey! I only offered to help ya out of the pen.” He spoke in his southern drawl.
“And stop staring at my ass.” She spat.
“Well give me something else to stare at.” He said with a smirk. “Besides, your not doing such a good job at staying outta my way either.’’
‘’You’re the one who’s in my way.’’
‘’Oh, I’m in the way...’’ he trailed off, walking towards her with an all-knowing smile as she was making an attempt to get out. “Well, what do you know, I am. Might as well take advantage of it while I can, don’t you agree?’’ he slyly finished off with a wink as he began to close in on her.
‘’Marshall,’’ she warned, seeing the bold look he now carried in his eyes.
‘’Clementine,’’ he playfully toyed with her.
She was standing with her back up against one of the posts now. Precautionary she brought both of her hands up to his chest, having in mind to push him away, although the action wasn’t sudden enough to tip him off. All he did was stumble back a step or two, having new vigor to feed on as he quickly, but gently pinned one of her arms above her head, wanting to feel her squirm against him just for the satisfaction of it before leaning into her as far as he could. ‘’Now, I’m in your way,’’ he breathed close by.
‘’Don’t even think about it,’’ she said once he was only inches away from her. She felt the gooseflesh rise on her arms and back of her neck as she turned her face away from his but still, he didn’t back off, wanting to take their cat and mouse game one step further as he brought one hand down to her face. The other he used to keep her in place. Gingerly he wiped a stray strand of hair aside from her forehead and revealed her face to him. ‘’You know what, Girl, you’re not that bad from up close.’’ He wasn’t lying; her face was flawless.
‘’I don’t care what you think,’’ she commented, repeating the phrase over and over in her head, trying to delay his intentions for a handful of seconds as he searched her eyes for the truth behind her words. ‘’Let me go, Marshall, I’m not in the mood.”
Lier! A little voice in her head accused.
“It’s getting late.” She said lamely. Their mouths where only an inch apart.
“I don’t even like you,” she whispered.
“You like me just fine, Sweet-heart.” He muttered back as his mouth found hers.
Clementine’s eyes widened suddenly as she felt his lips on hers. Not letting her waste as much as another second of his time. Marshall cocked her head up some more, close to cracking a smile as her eyes fluttered shut in response. As he slipped his tongue past her lips, crossing yet another line, she She tried to get a hold of her racing heart. She looked at him through her lashes, afraid to look at him directly. He had unnerved her and she wasn’t ready to admit it, not to him.
All of a sudden Marshall suddenly felt something hard hit him square in the jaw. He fell to the ground flat on his ass and was shocked to see Clementine pulling her arm back, her hand balled into a fist. “Bitch!” he said, spitting out a little blood.
“I said ‘No’.” She said, her heart was still beating heavily. Thier eyes met and she glared at him with the strangest mix of hatred and lust. A part of her wishing she hadn’t hit him, but she knew that she couldn’t let him think he could just behave like that.
“Yeah. But you look just so damn cute when your angry.”
Clementine scowled at him.
“There ya go again.” He said getting to his feet.
“Asshole!” She pushed past him, giving him another shove to the ground before she climbed the gate and stormed back towards the house, leaving him sitting in the dirt, looking thoroughly satisfied with himself. He didn’t even attempt to get up as he felt something hot on the back of his neck. He looked up to see one of the horses muzzles right beside his ear, trying to nip at his hair. He reached a hand upwards to give it’s jaw a quick scratch before he got to his feet. “That went well didn’ it?” he asked the mare, a smile on his face. He chuckled as the horse then nudged his hand for more attention and he leaned his forehead against the horses neck.

Abby smiled through the pain as Archie offered her a hand, taking it gratefully she allowed him to help her up, as he did she couldn’t help thinking that it wasn’t such a bad picture. He was cute with his clothes on but he was even cuter without them, pulling away a bit she smiled looking down.
“Thanks”
She said quietly, Alison in the mean time didn’t like being left alone on the couch and climbed down, walking unsteadily toward the two she went up to Archie holding her arms up wanting to be picked up. Abby smiled softly before thinking about his question and how on earth she was going to answer it.
“I mean what I said, I don’t know exactly what it was or what happened but it was big and see through and gray and it sped towards me and I went flying backwards”
She said with a shrug it wasn’t exactly the best description but it was the best she could think of at the moment, as much as she enjoyed standing here looking at a cute half naked guy she really needed to get cleaned up, but she didn’t want to be rude and just walk out she had been rude enough for one night besides it really was a good view.

Archie hadn’t been blind to her staring and glanced down a few times, smiling a little shyly, before he felt a small hand on his leg and looked down to see Allison standing beside him on wobbly legs, with a chubby thumb in her mouth. She was staring up at the two with large innocent eyes.
Half grateful and half irritated with the little interruption, he managed to say “Um..” before he shook the dreadlocks from his face, swooped down an arm and picking up the baby again. “Well we’re really not having a good night then are we? Washing up on Islands that you can never leave... clothes appearing mysteriously in drawers..now weird monsters runnin’ around flinging people around in the air...” His mind crossed to what Clementine might be doing.
He worried about his younger sister. And he didn’t trust her around him either. “Well,” he said with a sigh, adjusting his hold on the baby so that she sat on his hip, careful to make sure that she didn’t pull his briefs down. He continued to look down at Abby’s legs.
The scratches and slight bruising looked as if they needed some hot water to clean them out fast and he guessed that she needed a shower too. “I for one want to forget about all that for now and get you into bed.” His breath caught in his breath for a second, realizing how that had just sounded and he found himself speechless for a few long seconds. “Lets...” He coughed, “Want a shoulder to lean on?”

Abby grinned he was right this was defiantly not what she was expecting when she decided to stay back late at work trying to solve a murder. I mean who would have thought it was even possible to be sucked into some other world, let alone one she couldn’t leave and then to be attacked by some Gaseous form. Listening to his last comment she grinned and shook her head looking down slightly.
“Its all part of the adventure, just relax and go with the flow, o and for the record I don’t get into bed with people I just met”
She said with a grin before turning and limping heavily up the stairs walking into her room and found some new PJ’s and crossed the hallway taking a towel out of the closet and walking into the bathroom. Noticing there was a bath she decided that it was a better option as she would be sitting in the water rather then it pounding down on the wounds.
Turning the water on and putting the plug in she started to undress, it was painful and took her a few minutes longer then usual and as she waited for the bath to fill she inspected her injuries for the first time. Unfortunately they looked as bad as they felt, the gash’s in her face were not to deep that they would need stitches by the looks of it. Gravel was lodged into the scratches on her back and legs and touching it gingerly she knew it was going to be painful to wash out.
Turning off the taps and climbing into the bath she felt a mixture of both relief and pain, the warm water stung the cuts but at the same time they soothed them she could feel the dirt falling away from the wounds the minute she entered the water. She lay in the bath for a while slowly working on cleaning the wounds with a loofa without causing herself too much more pain, wondering what the others were doing.
She stayed in the water for about half and hour the water turned cold and she was beginning to fall asleep, therefore she got out and drained the dirty water carefully drying herself and putting her PJ’s on she opened the door and looked down the hallway she didn’t see anyone so she crossed to her room and laid on her stomach on the bed something told her that laying on her back as she usually did wasn’t going to work.

Archie smiled at her playfully for a moment before she started walking up the stairs, he followed, climbing closely behind her, just in case she tripped or fell but when she reached the top of the stairs and seemed to have little trouble getting herself to he bathroom, he decided to take a detour towards Allison’s room and put her to bed again.
“Okay, Pipsqueak, lets settle you down.”As Archie laid the baby down in the crib, Allison reached up and grabbed a handful of his dreaded fringe.
“Ouch!” he cried, but made no real attempt to pull away in case he hurt her. Allison pulled away, scared for only a second, before pulling on his hair again. Allison giggled as Archie gently lifted her fingers out of his hair.
“Oh you find this funny don’t you?” He couldn’t help but like the baby, but he could never imagine having one of his own.
He pulled a blanket over her, up to her chest just under her rib-cage. He really hadn’t had much experience to do with babies at all and wasn’t sure what he was supposed to be doing.
“So what am I meant to do with you now, huh?” He asked her, as she started up at him. He looked around and noticed a small music box on the shelf. “You like this?” He asked, walking over and taking it in his hands. It was in the form of a small white castle sitting on a cloud. Inside the little sphere was a tiny white unicorn with a young girl on it’s back. Turning it upside down, he twisted the little key and sat it back on the shelf. He smiled as the little tune started to sing ‘somewhere over the rainbow’.
Walking back to the crib, he looked in and watched the little one-year old yawn and close her eyes, sticking her thumb back into her mouth, making a suckling sound.
He had just reached the door and switched off the light, when he suddenly saw Clementine storm up the stairs, stomp right past him and slam the door of her room. He cringed, looking back a second to make sure that Allison wasn’t fussing again. But she seemed content. He closed the door half-way before walking towards Clementine’s room.
He hesitated in knocking.
“What?!” Came her muffled reply.
He opened the door and walked in. Finding her sitting on the bed, near the bedposts with her knees pulled up to her chest. It suddenly occurred to him how much of a child she looked when she did that. “What’s up your ass?”
“Get f-” She spat with venom.
“Shhh! Not while the kids in the other room.” He warned her, peering back out before he walked over and sat on the end of her bed. “What’s wrong with you?”
Clementine felt her face grow red as she thought about what an absolute asshole Marshall had been, and how much of an idiot he had unknowingly made her feel. “He kissed me.”
“Who?” “You know who.”
Archie looked at her blankly. Then he got it. And his face grew hot with anger. “You mean...? That lousy, perverted hick!”
Clementine felt her heart race as he got to his feet and made a few strides towards the door. “Don’t go out there! I handled it!”
“How?” He turned back, standing deadly still but his fists where shaking.
“I hit him.” She said, looking down.
“Clementine, he didn’t try to hurt you did he?”
“No, no, no!” She said hurriedly. She wasn’t sure what to tell her brother. Marshall had done either a very bold move or a very foolish move in approaching her like that. He had sensed her attraction to him and he exploited it. It had come as a shock when he approached her like that and it humiliated her. She had never felt like that a day in her life. He was rude, arrogant, selfish, and had little to no respect for other people. Why should she bother with him? Still...she knew it’d be fun to try and beat him at his own game.
Her eyes pleaded with her brothers to not go back out there. Archie did have some muscle, don’t get me wrong, but Marshall had more, and he was a few years older. She knew that if Archie went out there, he wasn’t going to come out the lucky one.
“Archie you haven’t been in a real fight since high school. If you go into that barn all that’s going to happen is you come out in a big wooden box.” She said, and Archie clenched his teeth for a second before sighed, finally withdrawing. “I don’t like him, Clementine.”
“Shocking.” She said dryly.
“Just watch out for him okay?” He knew there wasn’t much point in fighting about this with her. He wanted to just skip a fight and avoid having her not talking to him for a week. They couldn’t exactly afford it in a place.
Clementine just nodded as he walked out the door. She held her breath a moment, only expelling it when she heard him close the door to the other room beside hers. She tossed back the covers, laid down on her back and stretched languidly before pulling the covers back over her. She closed her eyes but knew that sleep wasn’t going to come easily. Her mind was still trying to process everything that was happening here, and she was wishing desperately that it was all just some twisted dream, and she was going to wake up in her bunk, in Steve’s old boat.

Abby heard Archie and Clem arguing in the next room but it wasn’t long before she was sound asleep, it had been a long day that was for sure, the big gray thing kept haunting her dreams but she didn’t wake, except when she moved.
…Morning…
The sun had risen by the time the trio rode back onto the property and all seemed quiet everyone must have been asleep Ellen thought as Satoria walked quietly towards the barn carrying her burden of two. Anna rode along behind on her stallion looking around at the ranch it was grander then the one her parents had owned and she had run after they all abandoned her but it was run down, she never allowed her place to become as run down as this. But looking at the girl who had brought them here, she was young and she was out in the middle of the night waiting for them so something made her think it wasn’t through choice that things were this bad.
As they got to the barn Brad slid off the horse with difficulty and then Ellen dismounted smoothly, not long after Anna hit the ground lightly. Motioning them to follow Ellen led them into the stable and Satoria was put away into one of the stalls, Anna found an empty stall and led Kierkan into it. Brad stood back watching them, as they made their animals comfortable, Ellen running around with food for all the horses in the stable.
“Ok lets get into the house, I need to check on Alison”
“Who’s Alison?”
Brad asked curious and Ellen smiled as she walked toward the barn door followed by the other two.
“She’s my baby sister”
“Isn’t your mum watching her, why do you have to check on her”
Anna asked immediately if it was her sister why was she the one that had to look after her surely at least one of her parents were around.
“No, my mother died giving birth to her, I take care of things around here now, between caring for the horses, welcoming new arrivals and looking after her, this place gets kind of neglected.”
The trio walked inside and up the stairs where Ellen opened two more doors and showed the two in, one was fully furnished and looked homely this was to be Anna’s room and it was on the same side of the hall as Ellen’s and Allison’s. The other was to be Brad’s temporary accommodation and it was the same as everyone else’s. Brad walked into his room and shut the door he needed time alone to think about all this, Anna on the other hand stood at the door looking in some of the things were he’s the bed spread for instance was the one on her bed back home. She turned to Ellen.
“Why? How?”
“Part of the magic of the Island Anna, don’t question it you will get a headache, If you would I would like you to stay on here, help me with this place and the horses.”
“I’ll think about it”
Anna said nodding slightly before she too walked into her room and closed the door behind her giving Ellen a weak smile before the door closed. Sighing Ellen walked into Allison’s room she was awake and sitting up in the crib she wasn’t crying yet so, she must have only just woken. Picking her up Ellen changed her then took her downstairs to play and to get her some breakfast.
Abby didn’t wake until 9 in the morning and for Abby that was saying something, as she rolled over in bed she thought it must have been a dream, the pain was gone. Opening her eyes she was looking at the room, the one that was not hers so it hadn’t been a dream, she really was stuck on an island with no way to get home. Sitting up in bed she ran her fingers through her hair and stopped. There was no bump on the back of her head, getting up she ran into the bathroom and looked into the mirror, the scratches on her face had gone too. Without even thinking that the door was wide open she took off her top and pants standing there in her underwear and looked in the mirror there was not a scratch on her.
“How the hell”
She said out loud, there was no way she had imagined all that about the gaseous thing could she? But if she hadn’t then how the hell where all the injuries gone?

Archie lay in bed staring up at the ceiling for a long while. He wasn’t sure how long. He kept thinking about what Clementine had just told him. He kissed her. Her. His sister! He hated the thought of it. That stupid southern hick making moves on his little sister.
And he was what? 26? Making moves on an 18 year old, it’s disgusting!
He couldn’t shake the thought out of his head as he lay there in the bed. Even as he rolled over onto his stomach and hugged the pillow with both hands the thoughts continued to run over and over again in his mind.
“He tries it again, and I’ll kill him.” He said before finally closing his eyes.
…Morning…
Down in the kitchen, Archie had heard the door open and the voice of Ellen, and two unfamiliar voices enter the hall leading towards the stairs. It was maybe somewhere between eight or nine in the morning and he was sitting at the table, still in his briefs eating some cereal he had found in the pantry.
“I see you’ve wasted no time in helping yourself to the food.” He looked up to see his sister enter the kitchen and gave her a half hearted nod. “Well,” he spoke with a full mouth, chewing a few times before swallowing. “Ellen did offer us temporary accommodation here. I think that should include a free breakfast.”
Clementine sat opposite of him, taking an apple out of a small bowl on the table and tossed it from one hand to the other. The chair scraped as Archie got to his feet and placed the bowl and spoon in the sink, giving them both a quick rinse under warm water before wiping and putting them back in the cupboard.
“What are we going to do now?” He turned back with a frown. He was right this was temporary accommodation. What where they going to do about jobs? A place to live? It wasn’t as if they had a choice in leaving.
“I don’t know.” She shrugged. “We’ll have to get jobs I suppose. There has to be houses...or flats or something that we can live in.” After all there had to be allot more people here. And she wasn’t sure how many people arrived here by ‘magic’. It had been her, her brother, Abby and that other guy who had seemed to keen on leaving, last night. Who knew how many people where brought here. She made a mental note to ask Ellen about it when she came back. Archie nodded, taking another apple from the bowl and taking a bite.
“Hows your leg by the way?” She asked him, looking down at the bandage around his thigh.
“Doesn’t hurt at all now. Kinda itches I guess. I haven’t had a look at it this morning.” He said, unwrapping it gently to inspect. He nearly choked on the bite of apple at what he saw though. “Impossible!” Clementine said almost accusingly as she stared at the leg, the skin appeared almost completely healed except for what looked like the beginning of a fresh scar over where the shrapnel had been.
“Yeah no shit.” Her brother said, touching the red scarring tentatively. “Abby?” he looked up at Clementine a moment before the both of them went running upstairs. “Abby, where are ya?”
