As they rode toward the mountain Satoria slowed to a walk, picking her way carefully through the well worn track leading up the mountain Satoria and Ellen had made this trip many times before. The tree’s surrounding them were black in the darkness of night, some would find this creepy but in a way Ellen always found it more relaxing this time of the night. As they reached a cool lake halfway up the mountain, the waterfall that fed the lake could be heard, the stillness of the tree’s around them as the animals all slept was calming to the women and horse.
Dismounting Ellen patted Satoria gently where she was going the horse couldn’t follow she didn’t come here too often but it was sometimes necessary how else was she meant to know when the new arrivals were coming or what their names were. Ellen began to climb up the rock face to the right of the lake, from the ground there didn’t seem to be anything worth climbing towards and in a way there isn’t unless of course you know the secret.
It took Ellen about ten minutes to reach the top and looking down she could see the dark outline of Satoria cropping the grass patiently as she waited. With a smile Ellen turned to face the black rock wall in front of her she was standing on a rather big ledge but there was nothing up there but a pile of stones. Taking the stones she carefully arranged them in the shape of a star and waited.
Before long the stone wall in front of her silently opened up revealing a dark cave in the so-called solid rock wall, smiling she stepped in and the wall closed behind her and lights sprang to life all around but not normal lights no. Haven’t you been paying attention nothing to do with this cave is normal no sir not in the least. Anyway back to the point, the light was ghostly you could say the walls sparkled with magic, the floor sloping down into the depth of the mountain.
Ellen walked for about 10 minutes all up, sometimes it took longer is she dragged her feet but she had to be ready for the new arrivals she couldn’t afford to dawdle this time. The tunnel opened up to a large well-lit underground room.
“I call to the, I call to the, spirit of honesty”
She chanted gently in the middle of the room her eyes closed and her body relaxed, she sat in the middle of the room cross legged and breathing gently.
“Hello Ellen, you are doing well, in the morning you will gather the new arrivals and help them to find their place’s on the Island, now the to new ones tonight. Annabelle and Bradley they will be susceptible to you speaking their names before they tell you, Bradley will be more resistant but you must be patient as always. Anna will stay on at the stale with you, you will find her a great help. For now you must go they will be here soon on the northern side of the mountain now go.”
The voice sweet and feminine echoed around the walls and then faded, it was then that Ellen stood, looking around the room once more she left ascending into the tunnel again, the path seemed shorter this time and she was soon emerging into the crisp cool night air. Placing the rocks back to their original pile she began the climb down, it was going to be another long night but if what she had been told was right she was about to welcome someone who would help take some of the load.
Walking back to Satoria she swung herself easily onto the mares bare back and gripped her mare for balance.
“Come on lets go girl”
She said gently and the brown and white mare moved into a walk following a different path that wound its way to the other side of the island. The side where she was meant to meet Anna and Brad, when all she wanted to do was go to sleep. Once they reached a clearing on the other side of the mountain she dismounted and waited…

The sun was high in the sky as Anna walked across the dry red earth toward the coral, the quarter horse mares were down by the creak but her strong proud Arabian stallion was in the coral. He was a spirited horse and the main stallion used for breeding on the stud farm, a great 17 hands and build like a house. His lovely dark bay coat was looking dull as it was covered in dust but when he was clean he truly gleamed.
“Hello precious”
She spoke softly walking up to him and stroking his face gently, the stallion pranced happily on the spot as she walked over to the store shed and took out her western saddle and bridle. Walking to the fence she laid the over it and climbed it jumping into the coral, the strong stallion trotted around the ring before coming to stand quietly beside her. Saddling him up she smiled patting his neck and swung onto his back easily, with a grin she moved him into a gallop and he cleared the coral fence with ease, taking off across the open terrain at full speed.
Anna always felt wild and free when she rode her stallion across the property, the work for the day was done and this was her wind down time. As she rode toward the river running through the property the source of water for not only her but all the horses as well, suddenly she saw something weird in front of her it was like a mirage it was like she could see an island. But that wasn’t possible was it?
Kierkan was apprehensive but rode on trusting the girl on his back, as they rode closer it was like they couldn’t stop they were being pulled toward that strange mirage. Suddenly they were on the other side on the island it seemed in a forest, Kierkan stopped, there was a girl there and another mare, he reared at the girl, he wasn’t too fond of strangers he saw them as a threat.
“What’s going on?”
Anna asked totally confused looking around the way she had come there was no sign of her parents stud farm, none what so ever, the girl didn’t step forward, she seemed younger then Anna a lot younger, she was maybe 17 by the looks of her, all she did was smile.
“All in good time, we need to wait for someone else first”
Anna was about to object when another portal looking thing opened up near her and Kierkan reared again causing her to have to stop arguing and hold on whispering softly into his ear to calm him slightly.

The day was young and Brad was on his way to the office, his morning had been normal so far, breakfast, shower, shave and off to work. His suit was perfectly kept with not a hair on it, his hair gelled back, and his posture perfect as he sat in the back of the cab as it made its way slowly through the early morning traffic jams.
Brad took the opportunity to go over his presentation for the board meeting today he had to impress the manager if he wanted to get that big promotion. Glancing at his watch it was a quarter to nine,
“You know what let me out here I can walk faster then this”
He said and the cab driver stopped ringing up the cost, Brad threw his some money mumbling keep the change before grabbing up his suitcase and walking along the sidewalk the 10 blocks to the office. Every now and then he liked to stretch his legs, it helped to clear his mind especially when he had an important meeting ahead of him. Some clumsy old lady dressed like a hippy crashed into him, his suitcase popping open and papers going flying.
“You stupid women”
He spat but she just grinned and kept walking, as he hurried to pick everything up and stuff it back into the suitcase he began to feel dizzy. Weird he thought to himself he wasn’t getting sick was he, he couldn’t afford to get sick right now. Standing up he realized that everyone seemed to be slowing down except him, it was the weirdest thing, they seemed oblivious to it as well. Then the whole street seemed to melt away, he yelled out but no one answered, spinning around he tried to spot what was doing this.
Before he could do anything, he realized he was standing in a forest and as he turned around again he saw them, two women one sitting atop a dark bay stallion and one next to a brown and white mare.
“What’s going on”
He asked his voice shaking slightly this was not part of being a businessman the women on the stallion crossed her arms and looked at the other younger looking girl
“That’s what I would like to know”
The younger girl smiled and nodded but made no move forward.
“Now that everyone is here I can explain. Anna, Brad Welcome to Seraph Island”
Holding up her hands she stopped them from voicing what she knew was coming.
“How do I know your names? This is no normal island, you want proof just look at the way you were both brought here, magical portals, this is a magical Island, you were both chosen and brought here by it.”
Anna sat on the horse mouth wide open, moving up and down but no words came out, Brad on the other hand took a step back away from everyone.
“You can’t seriously expect me to believe this can you?”
“Its your choice as to if you do right away or not but eventually you will, there is no way off so sooner or later you will have to come to grips with it, now if you would please follow me to the ranch”
She said easily swinging her leg on the mare she offered a hand to Brad, it was quicker if they all rode, reluctantly he accepted and pulled himself up behind her and Satoria headed off in the direction of the house.
